Staff Picks of the Week: February 24
Most of the projects that stood out to us this week involved drawing in some way. Whether it was creating graphics for a jacket, digitally sketching product designs, or crafting logo ideas by hand, we found a variety of styles and methods on display. Here are the five projects that really impressed us!
Sonix Bomber Jacket by Rebecca Wang
Festival season is quickly approaching and this sweet jacket looks like the life of the party. The reversible pattern demonstrates graphic design and embroidery skills, and pretty much means you're getting two jackets for the price of one. It brings to mind George Costanza and his many moods, and here's a jacket that has two options to suit your mood.
Digital Sketches 2016 by Marius Kindle
Marius Kindle's digital sketches show off a high level of skill and precision. Each sketch is tight and communicative. With a quick glance we get a clear sense of contours and materials. This guy is definitely a pro when it comes to sketching.
Maria takes a whimsical and bright approach to the classic tarot. Her well-blended hodgepodge of textures and patterns feels like an exciting hybrid of digital and hand illustrations. We love seeing a fresh take on old designs.
Moloko - restaurant identity by Artem Gorchakov
Carefully considered logo design work with impeccable geometric relationships makes this a simple yet beautiful branding project. Artem's work is unassuming and classy while still giving us a little bit of decadence.
Estero MarcaCultura Santiaguena by Cesar Mattar
This branding work reflects the natural and cultural elements of Santiago del Estero. Documentation of illustration to digital also gives us a nice look at the process behind this project.
