Staff Picks Of The Week: December 16
Mundane everyday objects, colorful illustrations, and cute robots were some of the standout projects we came across on Coroflot this week. Each of the five projects are completely unique and also demonstrate fully developed skill sets, and most give us a detailed look at the process. These are the five projects that pumped up the Coroflot team this week!
Winter 2016 Mall Integrated Campaign - City Centre Bahrain by Sonny Saguil
We've seen so many variations of Alice In Wonderland presented over the years that it can be difficult to distinguish. Sonny managed to present us with a fresh, original take on the classic story, and for a marketing campaign no less! He also provides excellent documentation of his process, from 2D sketch to 3D eye popping graphics and colors.
Alex works for Wowwee, and here he has given us a collection of his projects completed there. We are given a delightful look at the development of educational robots with plenty of expert sketches and modeling work to boot. It's nice to know that at least our Robot Overlords will be cute and smartly designed.
Fashion Week 2016 by Julija Lubgane
Julija's elegant illustrations are digital and you would hardly know it based on how well she maintains an analog expressionistic feel. Her style recalls the icons of fashion illustration and is perhaps a direct homage.
Perfileria de aluminio by Natalia Palacio
We never thought we'd be so jazzed up about handrails, but Natalia has managed to accomplish just that. The beauty of exploring the design process is that it often reveals the secret inner life of objects we don't normally think about. The depth of care and engineering that goes into the design of these hand rails is exemplary of the exciting internal world of the "mundane."
Thomas Cook - Summer 2017 by Mark Boardman
While mostly consisting of chunky flat imagery, Mark's illustrations successfully convey an illusion of depth and a peaceful contemplative mood. His vibrant, eclectic colors also create a feeling of warmth, making us yearn for easy breezy summer days.
