Staff Picks Of The Week: October 7th
This week we've been blown away by the high level of creativity from all of the projects posted on Coroflot. We can honestly say that when we started to look at our absolute favorite Staff Picks from the week, it was hard to choose only five. For that reason, we did our best to make sure the five projects we did choose are all totally different from one another. That is certainly the case with our picks for this week, but there is also something that links them all together, which is the impressive creative effort put into each project.
That being said, here are five of our favorites:
Children's bedroom design by Leandro Maximiliano Puy
There are several interesting designs in this collection, but what stands out is the crib, which is both high-end and extremely useful. In all of these designs, Leandro applies a defined system that is minimal, cohesive, modular, and, perhaps most importantly since these are for a child's bedroom, playful.
Lighting project by Taehoon Park
There's a mysterious, enchanting quality to this lighting project, and while there are few details about the purpose of it, the visuals kind of say it all. Taehoon's light is a fully developed form that is as elegant as it is luminous. Looking at the renderings, one can imagine this light creating an atmospheric, shadowy effect on the surrounding walls.
Zenergy iZBT5 - Portable Sleep+Sound+Light Therapy Bluetooth Speaker by Jennifer Garrett
Why didn't anyone think of this before? Jennifer's design for a portable speaker combined with sound and light therapy could easily be a novelty gift like the kind of stuff we all used to fawn over in the Sharper Image catalogs. Luckily, that's not the case here. The soft form is perfect for a device that revolves around peace and well-being, and the fact that it's a speaker means that you essentially have your own portable light show to accompany your tunes.
Condom Creatures by Cody Moore
We love a designer with a sense of humor, and Cody Moore is most definitely one of those. So maybe this design isn't totally practical, it's still a fun and clever way to promote safe sex awareness. You probably wouldn't keep a Condom Creature on the mantel or the dining room table as it is a little outrageous, but the fact that it's as cute as it is titillating makes it a great party gift. Or, if you really need the reminder, you can keep it right beside your bed!
Who doesn't love a good samurai flick? Philippe created these posters for a series of screenings of samurai films from around the world being put on by a Paris-based film organization. Philippe's poster designs are well thought-out, balancing vibrant colors with a sort dark, noirish tone. This campaign is already visually enticing, and Philippe goes the extra mile by presenting street renderings of the posters in different areas of Paris.
