Yolegmma is a Venezuelan multidisciplinary designer whose professional journey spans Argentina, the United States, Spain, France and Venezuela. In her homeland, she not only contributed to academia as a teacher but also served as the director of the Industrial Design School at the University of Los Andes. Her international pursuits took her to BCN, Spain, where she earned a master's degree in Exhibition Design and gained four years of valuable experience in the field.
In the United States, supported by a Fulbright scholarship, Yolegmma pursued an MFA in Industrial Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Concurrently, she excelled as a research assistant and directed Studio 930, a cutting-edge multidisciplinary design and innovation consultancy on the RIT campus. Post-graduation, she continued to inspire students as a faculty member at the same university, earning invitations to speak at prestigious conferences such as the Design and Management Institute (DMI) in Amsterdam and the Autodesk University Congress in Las Vegas.
Returning to Argentina, she founded "Yolegmma Marquez Studio", specializing in lighting design rooted in the study of tree seeds through biomimicry, additive manufacturing, and biomaterials. These diverse experiences culminated in her joining Cocoon Cruisers in 2022, where she seamlessly integrated her multidisciplinary background with a passion for design, nature, approaching a project with a transdisciplinary mindset.
Driven by a relentless curiosity and commitment to ongoing learning, Yolegmma currently resides in Europe, where she is actively advancing her research in biomaterials and 3D printing technology. Operating from her nomadic studio, she nurtures a dynamic space for freedom and experimentation. Simultaneously, she is on the lookout for fresh professional challenges that align with her passion for contributing to collective causes aimed at enhancing the overall quality of life for everyone.
