Senior Creative Designer, Advanced Design
General Motors
North Hollywood, CA
Nov 2007 - Nov 2009 (2 years)
Successfully employed my creative talents to the exploratory mission of the studio. Effectively produced design work that answered a need of the corporation, which was to uncover gaps within the product portfolio and explore alternative directions of various vehicle brands such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac and GMC. Produced influential design proposals for a number of show vehicles, which in turn inspired new directions for future GM products. Work responsibilities during this time included design development rendering, manual sketching and Photoshop sketching, Alias model development and clay scale model development. Created both exterior vehicle theme proposals as well as interior theme proposals.

Creative Designer
Production Design Studios, General Motors
Detroit, MI
Jan 2000 - Nov 2007 (7 years 10 months)
From Cadillac production vehicles to GMC truck products, the impact of my time as a GM designer can still be seen on the road today. While at GM's UK advanced studio, produced innovative small vehicle concepts to compete with the Mercedes A class. In Michigan, became a thoughtful and highly influential team member on Chevy, Buick and GMC product development teams. Employed my creative talents to greatly influence the design execution of vehicle exteriors, from luxury sedans like the Buick Lucerne, to crossover type vehicle platforms such as the GMC Acadia, to large SUV's such as the GMC Yukon. These vehicles were and are today considered some of the most successful products GM has produced in recent time. Daily responsibilities included design ideation, rendering, model development, meeting with engineering teams to preserve design studio intent and move great design forward. Also explored new vehicle themes for Opel and Vauxhall. Worked on vehicle mid-cycle enhancement projects to help keep our products fresh and viable. Did some component design work as well for developing numerous wheel designs, created roof rack solutions, door handles, rear view mirror shrouds, headlights and trim elements. Also spent time in GM's wind tunnels focused on improving the Buick Lucerne's aerodynamics through numerous design modifications. All in order to bring coefficient of drag numbers down so that the vehicle exterior would function efficiently.
