One of 3 students selected for 1st Global Design Workshop with Beijing University, working on historic middle school & ethnic museum sites in Yunnan, China. Special elective research on phenomenological theory, Buddhist architecture along the Silk Road, landscape design history. Studios using Revit, 3D Studio Max, VRAY, on hospitality, retail, residential, aged co-housing, & workplace projects. Thesis capstone proposal combined hospitality & sacred architecture: adaptive re-use of 1950s standard-model incinerator plant on NYC waterfront converted into global affairs center & secular 'monastic' retreat. Parti used geometry of the stupa but without overt religous iconography, and used phenomenological stimuli and somatic proportion in choreographed sequencing to evoke spiritual response.
