An innovative Honors graduate with experience in professional Industrial Design, with a passion for innovation and an emphasis on Research and Development to ensure my practice exceeds client expectations and meets market trends.
Throughout my industry-based experience, I have achieved a deep understanding of the design process and its application throughout the ideation and management of products, projects, systems, and services. I have established a robust capacity for working within a team environment, producing a collective outcome for the consumer and the organisation.
In the completion of my honour’s degree, I designed and prototyped a portable lung function testing device; lightweight, bluetooth-enabled, with impulse oscillation functionality. In this process, I utilised the CDIO framework, independent R&D, prototyping, and testing phases, including user research methodologies. My execution of this design throughout the
honors program had me awarded a high distinction, with this graduating first in honour's class II.
As a current Senior Fire Systems Designer, I have been responsible for the comprehensive end-to-end design of Fire Sprinkler & Hydrant Systems for projects varying from residential complexes, warehouses, schools, hospitals, and commercial high-rise buildings. As a part of a wider team, I have an integral role in the creation of complex design solutions all the way from their ideation to their operation.
This role has required extensive correspondence with suppliers and on-site teams to ensure efficient ‘easy-to-install ‘design solutions which have cost-effective manufacturing and installation. Further to this with the utilisation of online project management tools, this role incorporated closely communicating with clients at a managerial level in order to monitor and liaise regarding each project. Working side by side with critical stakeholders, I continue to provide design drawings for clients that are generated at the highest level.
Working across a multitude of projects I have utilised in-house project briefs developed from project-based specifications and reports. In doing so I have acquired strong capabilities in applying Australian standards.
I have confident capabilities to utilise a range of software throughout the design phase, and
proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modelling). My expertise with Revit, AutoCAD,
Navisworks, a combination of Inventor and, Solidworks, Hyena, AutoSPRINK, Revu’s Bluebeam, and Adobe Photoshop on a day-to-day basis has enabled me to mentor my peers.
