Planning, organising and facilitating rope course activities with the Course Director. Maintaining all ropes equipment to comply with safety codes, ensuring a safe environment for all participants. Encouraging all campers and participants to challenge themselves to face their fears and to complete a fun yet challenging activity. Working in an adrenaline filled area, whilst boosting skills i.e. Problem solving, Trust and Teamwork
The ropes course was designed to build character and to help individuals discover something about themselves. Each element tested different skills, and it was my role to determine which skills needed developing within my designated group whether it was to build confidence in one another or to ensure they work in a team. Utilising my observation skills, I decided which elements best suited the group in order for them to work together to successfully complete an element, whether this element required Communication, Patience or Leadership skills.

Applying to work as a camp counsellor in a USA Summer Camp, I have been employed as a program specialist, organising and leading activities for summer camp children, teaching them about adventure and outdoor skills.
The role involves being energetic and enthusiastic, encouraging children to participate in activities they can only experience at camp for the first time, developing their skills whilst doing so. It is my responsibility to be a role model to the children, setting an example for them and guiding them to adopt the right attitude and make the right decisions.
