BLUE BULLET - AGAVE LECHUGUILLA YARD

Marfa, Texas Drylands seeks to minimize water consumption and maximize water retention while exploring and developing architectural solutions for the future.

The site is organized along the natural topography and current rail line. Dry bio-swales are arranged along the natural slope of the site. Stones and lava rocks are collected locally and displayed in a sacred rock garden, celebrating the Agave Lechuguilla. The plan also contains an Agave-yard, where the agave can be harvested and distributed for its attributes. The swales and rock garden mimic the way that agave collect water.
