I began working as a fashion designer in Bueno Aires, Argentina, while finishing my degree in fashion design at Buenos Aires University (U.B.A). While at the university I served as a teaching assistant for fashion design. At the same time, I worked as a freelance assistant designer before I got the opportunity to work for Levi´s in Argentina in 2008. At Levi´s, I worked as a Designer specializing in denim bottoms (men and women) and then managing the Cut & Sew sector for the brand until December of 2010 when at the same time I finished my fashion degree requirements at Buenos Aires University.
In 2011, I moved to New York City to continue my studies, interning for an artist, Federico Solmi, and a jewelry designer, Marcia Grostein. Upon returning to Buenos Aires, I began working for Paula Cahen D´Anvers, a popular South American women´s clothing line. While there, I served as the senior designer responsible for all denim items, outdoor wear and the swimsuit collection. I served in this position until 2013 when I moved back to New York, where I currently reside working for DL1961 and The blue shirt shop.
Please feel free to take a look at my work and contact me with any questions that you might have.
Kind Regards,
Ursula Recio.
