Graduating with his Bachelors of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University (LTU) in 2013, Travis immediately pursued a professional career with FNI. Two years later, he enrolled in LTU’s Masters of Architecture program and plans to graduate in the summer of 2018. He gained valuable skills throughout his undergraduate career that translated well to professional practice, with his most current studies focusing heavily on design research. His education and professional experience has taught him how to deal with immediate circumstances, but also challenge norms and progress thought.
During his undergraduate stint, Travis was involved in some unique programs including the conceptualization of the M1 Rail infrastructure within downtown Detroit, MI—partnering with a well-established developer. He also studied abroad for three weeks in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou, China; as well as gaining valuable experience with digital fabrication processes and methods through the makeLab™.
His graduate pursuits have steered his passions toward environmentally exploratory design as it pertains to ethological + ecological impacts; believing that good design is a hedonistic + holistic blending of the two studies.
