Founder and Director
Made on Jupiter, Ltd.
Nov 2010 - Present (13 years 11 months)
I founded Made on Jupiter and successfully helped a collective of digital artisans (myself included) explore the possibility that their skills benefit a more tangible, social and sustainable reality.
Together, we attempt to narrow the gap between designer, manufacturer and consumer, or between artist and audience, through elaborate digital tools and interfaces that stem from the high-end digital graphics world. And test those tools through daring physical production projects.

Founder, Director & CTO
Copono
Nov 2011 - Jan 2013 (1 year 2 months)
Copono was a tech startup developing an online preference & trust platform to help consumers shop ethically, and encourage corporate transparency. In my role as CTO I managed the development team, consisting entirely of volunteers. Despite the hyperfluidity and fragmented nature of the group, I was key in sustaining the effort long enough to get a site and iPhone app developed, on no budget.

Lead FX Technical Director
Sony Pictures Imageworks
2005 - Jan 2010 (4 years 3 months)
On academy nominated Surf's Up, I was responsible for many of the more complex effects rigs. In particular I worked on a 'beach break' system, the transition area between land and sea where waves crash and run up the beach.
On Beowulf I ported the Surf's Up beachbreak system and adapted it for the specific needs of this show.
My work at Sony Pictures culminated with 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs', on which I designed several of the hero effects: a jello palace, and a spaghetti twister. This got me nominated for the Annie Award for best visual effect in a movie - the Oscar for my line of work!
I finally worked a few months on Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
