Restoration

Over the course of the last 5 years, I have restored a 1971 VW Superbeetle. I did everything except lay down the paint (which I will be doing myself on my next project).

The suspension is completely new and fully adjustable (currently set up for the track). I rebuilt the engine from the short block out to hold me over until I have enough to build a turbo stroker. I reupholstered the interior with year correct color and material. I was able to refurbish a lot of the original trim and only one piece of glass is not from the factory. I did all body work (except primer, paint and clear) including transplanting the rear apron from a Mexican Standard Beetle (a different shape that increases space in the engine bay). I also devise a jig that bolts to the axle that allowed me to straighten the rear subframe with a winch due to a rear-end collision sometime during the car's life.
