Sowden Design was my introduction to the Memphis Group and one of the early members, George Sowden. I participated on multiple programs including Rancilio and Alessi. George championed what he called a "humanistic" approach to design, and based design direction of objects as artifacts. Tragically, the downturn in economy ended my stay in Milan and experience with the talented crew of designers and artists. Since 2010 George and the studio have concentrated on producing their own line of housewares.
