Terry Chan

A product designer for about twelve years in Hong Kong. My job is, of course, designing products, and also need to communicate with the engineers and sales & marketing to take their conceptualized ideas and make them a reality. Study the features, seek out the problem, find the solution and solve it. I have always taken on a project and arranged prototype that can be effectively marketed to the consumer. I do this without ever going over budget or over the time limit that has been given me. Sometimes I may need to get involve the construction, product graphics and packaging of the product, dealing with factories, etc. It takes me extra time, but also gives me chances to learn some extra things.

I would like to work in a relax and smooth atmosphere, with a conscientious and responsible attitude. Working in this industry requires a team effort between all departments. I think I am working well with different personality types in my previous and existing job. As one of my interests is therapy knowledge, I've taken some courses of psychology, NLP, dermatoglyphics, etc. Those knowledge help me to have a good understanding and communication with people, including my workmates, friends and family. And I find it sometimes even help me on designing products, stand on the users point of view to consider my ideas.

Although I'm not a professional photographer, I'll join some friends to go out and take photos. I like detective stories, comics, intelligent toys, and play board games with friends in gathering.
