The Ancient Mariner is an amazing creature whose very survival depends on us. The South Carolina Aquarium is home to the only hospital for sick and injured sea turtles in South Carolina. The new Sea Turtle Hospital and Visitor Experience is designed to excite, energize, and educate visitors on the story of the endangered sea turtle and re-enforce the South Carolina Aquarium brand as a leader in sea turtle rescue operations, education, and advocacy. As the writer for this Guest Experience, I created content for a number of unique experiences including an AR triage station for guests to examine turtles, release videos that captured the story of the turtle's rescue and release, and a film for the Object Theatre designed to create an emotional connection with the audience to motivate them to help safeguard the sea turtle.
