Walt Disney World Happy Easter Parade TV telecast on ABC
The Walt Disney World Happy Easter Parade was an American television special that was broadcast annually on Easter Sunday on ABC from 1985 to 1999. I began as a segment producer/writer on the Easter telecast, later show scriptwriter, and ultimately Executive Producer. Like its sister partner, the WDW Christmas Parade TV telecast, the Easter Parade show featured a parade, entertainment segments, and story driven segments that spotlighted, promoted new attractions, parades, and events. Memorable segments included Harry Connick being forced to stay in the Tower of Terror during his time at the park; the world’s largest bunny hop on Main Street USA, and welcoming Persian Gulf War veterans and their families to enjoy the taping of the Happy Easter Parade complete with a military fly over of Main Street USA. During the 11 years I worked on the show, we produced over 50 segments and welcomed popular talents of the day.
