Tasha Coles

My name is Tasha Coles, and I am an amateur self-taught make-up artist. Through out this portfolio you shall see my independent work around special effects whilest featuring some incomplex body art and simplistic makeup looks.

I have always had a love for makeup and the beauty behind it since I was a small girl. The way you can manipulate and transform faces always had me in awe. But my true love for makeup and the varying degrees of it - including special effects, started when I discovered the well known YouTube makeup artist Shannon Harris - 'shaaanxo' when I was 17. I started trying out more adventurous makeup looks with bolder colors, pulling them off and being commended for it. I then began doing a few formal makeup looks for High School balls, School productions, and other formal events for friends and colleagues. But as school finished I didn't see a viable career in it for a small town girl like myself, so i stuck to what i knew.. waiting tables. This year leading up to 'Halloween' I began to find a love for special effects as I carved into a petroleum jelly and cornflower mix on my face. I discovered the patience, effort and skill it took and loved the thrill of a completed look. This thrill is what is making me go for this course to gain knowledge and expertise around a field that I only know so little about, but am already head over heels in love with. This is my career choice, let's begin the journey.
