Jonathan Hicks // Industrial Designer, MA
Jonathan grew up in Toronto, Canada where he explored and developed his imagination, creativity and raw design skills as a street artist early on during his teenage years. Birthed on blocks and billboards, refined and cultivated for the boardroom and everywhere in between, Jonathan prides himself on knowing what’s Now and what’s Next.
In 2004 Jonathan was accepted to the Advanced Product Design Masters program at Umea University in Northern Sweden. Working and developing his design craft amongst an international group, Jonathan gained the design philosophy and knowledge from a global perspective.
In 2006 he was recruited by Toyota to work with their team in Tokyo to design a “green” concept car with a strong innovative connection to the Japanese family urban lifestyle and living space.
In 2007 Jonathan made his move to Los Angeles were he currently designs a wide range of successful top tier products for brands such as; Nike, Burton, Spy Optic, Melodies by MJB, House of Marley, Garrett Leight, Quiksilver, Roxy, O'Neill, Ronix, Bolle, Demon United, Margaritaville, One Industries, Alpinestars, Umbra, and Toyota.
With each project Jonathan uses a range of influences and experience to create designs and branding that embody the product and establish tangible connections with the consumer. Jonathan’s willingness to embrace such broad concepts allows him to be versatile and adept at taking great ideas and making them realities.
