Sergio Antonio Salvi, architect and product designer, took up the career of designer in the field of the industrial research on plastic, composite and new materials (ENI —state petrochemical group—), until he held the post of project manager. As an architect and product designer, he then collaborated with the studio of the well known architect Michele De Lucchi, taking part in the design of products for companies such as Ciba Vision, Mandarina Duck, Olivetti, Vitra. Contract professor at Politecnico of Milan (faculty of Design) and Istituto Marangoni, in Milan, he has also given lectures at Scuola Politecnica di Design, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, ISIA of Faenza and Urbino, Istituto Europeo di Design, Rhode Island School of Design, Domus Academy and he is the author of "Plastica Tecnologia Design" which has been introduced by Giulio Castelli —founder of Kartell— (Hoepli, 1997; author's nomination at "2002 World Technology Awards"). He also published articles for some magazines (I'Arca, VIA, GB Progetti, Stileindustria, Plast Design). After occupying himself with engineering design, he was consultant for several corporations, companies and organizations such as Abet Laminati, Ferrero, Granarolo, Pepsi Cola, Schweppes, Microsoft Italia (with SPD), Polidesign, Scaroni, Turmix Elektro Apparate. In recent years he has dealt mainly in packaging design, thanks also to the collaboration with Affaba & Ferrari.
