As part of the multidisciplinary team within R&D which developed Diskus and Ellipta, I formed part of the early stage team. I was responsible for the development of ideas and concepts enhancing patient experience and patient safety, for both inhaled and parenteral drug delivery devices. Working closely with development partners, both internally and externally to GSK, leading the development of patient centric, holistic solutions for next generation drug delivery devices.

Senior Industrial Designer responsible for providing design consultancy to many international brands. Working within tight timescales, planning design strategy & brand language, actively liaising with clients and far east manufacture; to turn strategic ambitions into tangible, successful products. The value I added through this process delivered previously unattainable exclusivity agreements and repeat business to Otter. Clients included: Morphy Richards, Meyer Prestige, Cuisinart, Kenwood, Philips, Breville, Braun, Waring, Next, Vitek & Polaris; to name a few.

I developed my role within Kenwood Design Office to take responsibility of the breakfast category; designing and developing Kenwood’s kettle, toaster and coffee machine products, marketed globally. Initial ideas and sketches developed through to A-surface design definition CAD data, and specifications, to be issued to manufacturers. I actively liaised with fellow designers, marketing, engineering and far east manufacturers to successfully meet project timescales & budgets, as well as commercial & safety requirements. I have designed a number of products launched into the market-place, I was awarded a Red Dot Design Award in 2010, for my work on MG700.

As winner of the RSA’s Natural Disaster Relief competition, I was awarded with a four month internship within GSK’s Device Technology Group. I was part of a small in-house consultancy providing concept design and innovation on consumer healthcare products for brands such as: Panadol, NiQuitin, Aquafresh, Sensodyne Pronamel, Ribena and Lucozade. It was both challenging and rewarding to work on fast moving, diverse projects, for high profile international brands.

I experienced life as part of a small design consultancy working closely with two directors on wide ranging projects from performance sportswear to toothpaste dispensers. I was actively involved in various stages of the design process, from initial brainstorms, concept generation, sketch development, Photoshop rendering and producing visual presentations for clients. I gained a valuable insight into consultancy work and the teamwork required to make it a success. I took full advantage of the opportunity to learn Rhinoceros 3D.
