Øivind Alexander Slaatto, runs the design studio SLAATTO.
He holds a master degree in industrial design from The Danish Design School where he graduated 2007.
Øivinds design-debut was the awarded speaker, Beoplay A9, which he designed for Danish High End High Fi brand, Bang & Olufsen. This design has received an IF Product Design Award, a CES "Best of Innovations Award" and a "BoBedre Design of the Year 2012 Award".
The Danish lighting brand, Le Klint, recently launched his first collection of lamps, the SWIRL collection.
For the moment the studio is working on more lighting and audio audio-designs, furniture projects, tableware and electronics.
For his ability to humanize innovation, he received a first price in an Intel-design contest.
Øivind has a background in music with studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and performances all over Europe. To day Øivind doesn't play music any more - unless a tuba is needed for the Oktoberfest in the studio...
Øivind has received work grants from The Danish Arts Foundation, Nationalbankens Jubilæumsfond and from the DANISH ART WORKSHOP.
