Ba Industrial Design
Coventry University
2010 - 2014
I have always grown up with a rich interest in 3D form. At gcse (ages 14-16) I studied ceramics and looked into how to create a artistic ceramic piece.
Then going into A level (17-18) I studied Art and Product Design. In art I learnt how to use photo shop and also continued to design from inspiration. Looking into Andy Goldsworthy and Elizabeth Fritsch I soon create some work of my own. With product design I learnt valuable skills and it also set off my love for design, with a fantastically enthusiastic teacher I soon started taking inspiration from the De Stijl movement. Creating a half scale table and chair that can slide apart to then be stored completely flat. It is still a project I am proud of today 4 years later.
Then finally my time at Coventry University has taught me a lot, It has taken my whole interest of design to a new level where I want to design for disabilities. My time at Coventry has seen me have a placement from Jan-Oct. It has seen me fly out to Seattle to present a piece of work. And it has also seen me get my first protection on a design. With a lot of experience behind me I hope to build on it and create some seriously useful projects.
