A thick layer of dust or rust is often found on the things I like to photograph. Items in museum display cases, thrift shops, forgotten store windows and old rail and shipyards are recurring themes. I purposely record decayed items “in situ”; in their undisturbed position. I utilize only existing light and alter the images minimally in processing to produce an image as close as possible to what exists in real life. Wear and scars reflect objects that have passed through many hands and have helped build a history, and I seek to preserve that patina.
