I’m a graphic artist who exercises in both computer graphics and traditional studio art. I have a passion for character design and graphic novels, so I’m also working to becoming an animator and comic book artist. In the field, I found it’s important to be well rounded in both the graphic and traditional studio forms of artistic medium. Not only have studying both arts given me a chance to experiment with new methods, but also have bettered myself in my style, as well as my job as an artist overall.
In traditional art, I’ve experimented with most media, but I find myself gravitating towards either graphite or charcoal. It feels the most natural to me and I’m able to do much more in general with both tools than any other media. In regards to computer graphics, I’m proficient in Adobe programs Illustrator and Photoshop – both I consider my tools of the trade.
In much of my art, I like to combine the two together – mostly drawing simple or complex pencil works and enhancing or embellishing them using Photoshop elements. Often they go hand-in-hand with each other and the different pieces that are created using the two yield very interest. I’ve created some of my best work using this method.
