Artist Sayedur Rahman is one of the brilliant and influential contemporary artists of Bangladesh
and he is particularly taken into account in the arena of fine arts for his unique style of artworks
having an individualistic sense of flavour. Painting and other forms of visual art have been his passion
since his early childhood. While studying at high school his teacher purposively sent him to
some art exhibitions which subsequently provoked his passion to grow more to bloom the
divine flower of art. After graduating from secondary school in 1989. he got admission in the
Institute of Fine Art of Dhaka University which ranks top in Bangladesh as a public university.
He studied there drawing and painting, completed his bachelor degree and masters in 1996 and
in 1997 respectively.
Thereafter, based upon his credentials, he was awarded a Japanese government
scholarship (monbusho) to study fine art in Japan in 1997. He completed a research course in
visual art at Mie University in 1999. After coming back to Bangladesh, he joined Narayanganj Art College as a lecturer and worked there for several years. Then he moved to England in 2008 for pursuing further higher studies and studied graphics there for two years.
