I am a MSc Design for Interaction from TU Delft. I also studied Industrial Designer at Universidad de los Andes at Bogotá, Colombia. My background is as concept, product, interaction and UX designer.
I am interested in the importance of people’s behaviors and how those behaviors could be translated into objects, products and services with powerful meaning. I have a great sensitivity for graphic design and aesthetics and is interested in the topics 'Ubiquitous Technology' and ‘Internet of Things’
I had worked with Endoways, a Colombian company that focus on finding low cost innovative solutions for the medical field. I also worked for Cosmétika Ltda, as Design Director in charge of all the conceptual and aesthetic design of the products. I am the founder and creator of BILLEGAS, a collection of piggy banks shaped as characters intended to save money only with bills.
I like to define design as a magic process, I took a quote from the movie "The Prestige" (2006) by Chris Nolan and adapted in order to explain what design represents for me:
Every great design consists on three parts or interacts. The first one is called 'The Approach'. The designer takes something ordinary: an electrical appliance, a regular activity or a group of people. He studies this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed needed, desirable, pure. But of course... it probably isn't. The second part is called 'The Concept'. The designer takes the ordinary something and turns it into something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be amazed. But you won't have it yet. Because making a concept of something isn't enough; you have to bring it to life. That's why every design has a third part, the hardest part, the one that we call 'The Product'
