As an Industrial Designer and educator, Sabrina has been contributing to the Chicago design community for over 27 years. Currently Sabrina is Professor at Northwestern University in the Segal Design Institute where she heads up the sketching program, co-teaches design thinking courses, and facilitates a course on materials and process in the EDI graduate program. Prior to her master's degree in 2018, she worked for 10 years at UIC, serving as Foundation Master, Instructor, and Internship Coordinator for the School of Design. Sabrina first moved to Chicago in 1995 to take a position with Herbst LaZar Bell where she was promoted from Staff Designer to Senior Designer, and finally to Project Manager - managing projects for Hewlett Packard, Quill, Dacor, Kodak, Motorola, Bunn, and Tenex. She then took a position with Tres Design Group as lead designer where she directed projects for Terk Technologies, Alberto Culver, Art Crystal, Fellowes, and Sima.
Sabrina received a Bachelor of Science degree from Art Center College of Design in her hometown of Pasadena, California. She earned her master’s degree in Product Design and Development Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 2018.
