Design Education
While participating in the Industrial Design Outreach (IDO) program at SFSU, I mentored high school students in the principles of design, helped to develop curriculum, and led workshops on shop and tool safety. From 2007 to 2008 I, along with other IDO mentors, helped students from Thurgood Marshall High School in San Francisco develop a community bench which was selected for a limited exhibition in San Francisco's DeYoung Museum. During the course of this project, I formalized the curriculum based on STEM standards in compliance with the State of California's published educational curriculum standards as part of my graduation thesis. My curriculum work assisted in the the Community Bench Project receiving a Core 77 award in 2012.
