Ever since I was 16, I've held a part time job at ZSL Whipsnade zoo and currently still work there now when I'm back home from university. I started in the functions department, where I worked as a catering assistant, which taught me lots about working in a team as meals were produced in a slick, precise conveyer belt type system, thus cooperation and communication were always key. Also, part of the job was the room set up and design, which I found extremely interesting, as the fact that the layout of the room was so important that it would often make or break the event being held.
Recently the functions department was closed, however I was kept on and transferred to the Day Visitor Catering (DVC) department. This has been like starting a new job as the I have to perform completely different tasks and work with a much bigger team. However, I feel that i have adjusted well and taken to the new job. My time with Whipsnade has been great and has taught me many things, however I do hope I'll be able to move onto a more career based job soon.

Work experience
Complete Carworks
Studham, United Kingdom
May 2011 - May 2011
This was a short two week work experience placement. It gave me the chance to experiment with some off the technical aspects incorporated in cars, for example the science behind the aerodynamics which shape the form of some cars.
