Ben started his career working for BV Doshi (www.sangath.org) in Ahmedabad, India. Upon his return to the UK, he joined a design-led architectural practice with responsibility for projects divided equally between high quality residential projects and commercial clients. In 2003, Ben joined MWB PLC, the owner of Liberty of London, Hotel du Vin and Malmaison hotel brands. He worked extensively on numerous residential, retail and hotel projects both in the UK and overseas including a major proposal for the Grade 2* Listed Liberty of London (www.liberty.co.uk), the restoration of the former Oxford Prison and a mixed use masterplan scheme in South Africa.
Ben has significant experience in conducting planning and development negotiations with prominent London Estates and stakeholders. He has worked extensively with Listed Buildings; particularly within Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Camden and Hammersmith and Fulham. Ben believes passionately that a rigorous commercial understanding should underpin every project and that good design can contribute real value.
Ben has been a Visiting Lecturer in Architecture and has also taught at the University of the Arts, London. Ben founded bdAr Architects and Designers (later to become Rodic Davidson Architects) in September 2006 and is a member of the Royal Institution of British Architects.
