Christie's First Shanghai Auction
Christie's has cultivated long-term relationships with the art community in China, opening an office in Shanghai in 1994. Since that time, China has become one of the largest and fastest-growing art markets in the world.
Holding their first independent auction in Shanghai a commission arose to produce a brand showcase to communicate the brands unique place in the development of art since 1766. In addition, it needed to show insight into the Chinese market through its understanding of historical artifacts leading right up to contemporary Chinese art.
To achieve this I designed a customer journey that would take in a simultaneous timeline of important advances in Chinese and Western art through specific works that have been sold or auctioned in the past through Christies. The work consisted of angled tables that contained static and interactive technologies together with edited video content at the entrances and exits.
