I am a 2014 graduate from the Product and Material Studies (Product Design) program at the University of Oregon, with a minor in Architectural History. I am in constant pursuit of what is new and next and pride myself on staying well-informed when it comes to trends. I have a wide range of skills that could place me well in a number of professional settings. My proficiencies include textile design, screen printing, and soft good accessories, furniture design and woodworking, 3D modeling using Solidworks, and product photography. I love exploration of new materials, and am always adding to my collection as well as my technical skill set.
I have been independently selling antique home goods and clothing for 5 years on Etsy, and have an extensive knowledge of design history and depth of inspirational references that is well beyond most people my age.
Sustainability is hugely important to me in my work, and although my designs from college don't entirely reflect that, I'm set on shifting my course in the direction of using innovative and biodegradable materials, with a special interest in package design. But, as I am just beginning my career, any experience I gain in any field of design is going to be beneficial, so I am open to any and all opportunities that can help me become a better designer and all around human.
There are few things I love more than working in a group. It is my belief that good design can only come from discussion and interaction, and even when working on independent projects, it is critical to bounce ideas off of someone at some point. That being said though, I work very well independently, and enjoy taking on the challenge of working without a group just as much as working with one.
I am currently looking for work at a junior design position or paid internship that will keep me on my toes with new challenges, and help expand my human-centered and technical skill set while also helping to grow and improve the people I work with.
