As an Experience Designer with LUMA, I focus on creating thoughtful learning opportunities, rich interactions, and delightful experiences for people who learn and apply the LUMA System. I consider where people are in their search for innovation, and strive to improve this process through LUMA's product and service channels - all with the end goal of encouraging practice, exploration, and discovery.
With a background in Industrial Design, Design Research, and Usability Testing of both medical devices and consumer products, I combine my passion for research, problem solving, and collaboration as a LUMA Institute practitioner, facilitator, and instructor.

Industrial Designer/Design Researcher

Industrial Designer and Design Researcher for a global contract manufacturer, working on projects within the; medical, defense, consumer, industrial, and automotive industries. Continual collaboration with the Human-Centered Design team, as well as with external partners. Strategic work on internal planning efforts to better assist our customers, and to expand internal Human-Centered Design capabilities. Planning and execution of user research, including both contextual interviews and usability testing. Construction of research surveys and preparation for interviews and user observation. Analysis of audio, video, and anecdotal findings. Synthesis and presentation of research in order to make actionable recommendations to inform future design work.

Industrial Design Intern

Collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams on projects such as; an advanced insulin delivery device, products to further develop homeland security applications, and contemporary trend research to present to design team. Internship was extended for an additional 4 months, to work when available during student’s last semester at University.

Design, Packaging, and Print Assistant

Selected to assist designer as a packaging/print assistant for a vibrant children’s fashion start-up in Minneapolis, MN. Met with designer to discuss packaging, print, and publicity options for a line of children’s shoes and headbands. Aided with the development of packaging and displays with the selection of economic tooling and materials. Prepared an informative mailer to send to national retailers, boutiques, and prospective partners of Chelsea-Baby.
