I have always been fascinated by small space living. I have tested my own theory by living on a 10m yacht for 8 months. The basic concept is a full block of flats which is manufactured in a warehouse and shipped to any "My First Home" site anywhere a mother base is erected. The gantry racking used to hold the units could also be assembled in a matter of weeks rather than many months or years and shipped anywhere in the world. This personal project looked at analysing the options for best use of space using the same footprint and transport mechanisms as a shipping container. I imagined this would be a perfect solution for young people living in cities like London where you want to get on the property ladder but just cant afford it in such densely populated areas. The modules could be bought or rented.
