Created, developed, and designed Educational, Classroom, and Professional Development books, packaging, and resource materials for a national audience of educators and students in all 50 states as well as an international audience of 89 countries. Designed products from concept (creation of design samples and branding), to completion (approval of bluelines and QC materials), while following and adhering to a production schedule and print deadlines.
Design duties encompassed concept development and presentation of mock-ups, cohesive design development and execution of packaging and kit components, design and layout of front and back covers, interior layout and design of front matter, student pages, teacher lesson pages, back matter, and design of various resource materials such as cards, slipsheets, and individual pieces of support collateral.
Other design duties include detailed typography, illustration, and photo collage work, typesetting and template mastery, photo editing, and photo and illustration research and sourcing, all from concept to completion.
Production duties were to ensure clear communication and smooth workflow cycles between the Creative Director, Art Director, Editorial Department, Photo Department, Production, design team, and freelancers through integrated support meetings, product trackers, and scheduling.
Day-to-day duties included maintaining appropriate server organization, computer files and backup files for archiving, upholding all quality and content specifications of the brand and publisher, and keeping current with and troubleshooting all graphics production equipment, computers, and software.

Project responsibilities included both digital and print marketing campaigns that highlighted consumer education, financial information, loan products, banking services, and internal support encompassing design for outdoor building signage, branch and community advertising, print collateral, promotional materials, brochures, website assets, e-blasts, web ads, POP displays, special projects and more.

Managed, organized, and communicated with clients promptly regarding image, copy, and art assets. Met tight production and print deadlines and maintained design and prepress standards of all digital files from both clients and outside advertising agencies.

Redesigned Powder magazine from front to back to reposition the magazine as the “extreme skier’s magazine”, specifically for the 18-40 year-old demographic. Produced eight issues per year under intense deadlines and managed a production schedule that included the art direction of Bike and Inside Golf magazines as well. Worked one-on-one with illustrators and associate designers. Designed and built trade show booths, designed media kits, advertising, stationary/identity, clothing, t-shirts, contest collateral, stickers and giveaways for each magazine.
As Art Director, redesigned Bike magazine and art directed all issues for one season.
As Creative Director, developed and launched a design template for Inside Golf magazine and art directed all issues.
As Art Director, redesigned Gravity magazine and art directed all issues for one season.

As the sole designer, designed and art directed all projects from concept roughs to comps, through production and to finished pieces. Handled relations with clients, associate designers, printers, vendors and production. Gained experience in magazine layout and production, photo editing, creative direction, and printing technology.
Directed and consulted on the creation and launch of California Active magazine and the creative/art direction of all subsequent issues.
As Assistant Art Director for Surfing magazine, assisted with the redesign and daily design of subsequent issues.
As the sole designer for the redesign of Auto Club News and Westways magazine, gave both magazines new department formats and feature-well styles, designed front-of-the-book and back-of-the-book sections for each, and developed an overall style and layout for both publications which included grid structures, typography, a color palette, photo layout, and a style/specification manual.
Clients included: Surfing magazine, Software Ventures Corp., MGM, Tri-Star Pictures, Axium Entertainment Services, Mattel, California Active magazine, Digital Domain, and Automobile Club of Southern California.
