Smart Textile Baby Carrier
The product is a thermally controlled baby carrier, constructed from waterproof, Nylon fabric with a soft internal layer. It is for use with children from 2 months to 1 year of age, and allows for these young children to be safely exposed to temperatures below 0 degrees celsius, for up to 7 hours on one Lithium Ion (Li-ion) battery charge. The heating element of the carrier was achieved with the incorporation of a thermal smart fabric, which keeps the internal environment of the carrier at a constant 25 degrees celsius.
The project began from sketch and was followed through to a fully functioning and aesthetic prototype.
