ABOUT MY WORK:
My artwork reflects on personal identity of individuals through the social, the cultural and the religious. In my work I also explore notions of belonging, territory and unstable geography. My artistic medium are drawing and video.
My use of drawing as a main artistic medium is a deliberate choice that involves a particularly slow and meditative human-led process, labeled as obsolete in comparison to other quicker artistic mediums like the digital. This choice comes as a metaphorical reaction to the increasing praise of an economically productive use of time, and to the desecration of leisure time as a basic human need. This deliberate choice of a time-consuming drawing medium aims at re-questioning and redefining the notion of time efficiency by stretching time inversely from the economically productive back to the human centered meditative time scale. -
