Duron Energy through their range of solar home power systems (DC home systems and AC inverter systems) are on a mission to provide the rural market in India with freedom from Darkness and Heat.
I commenced working with Duron as a Consultant and now as part of the team head the design initiative as Design Architect.
My work begins with the design cycle, commencing with product design, mechanical detailing,
prototyping and packaging, culminating with design documentation, supervision of the pilot
production and manufacturing handover. Creation of marketing material have recently been added
to my list of responsibilities.

I was part of the team that help setup the subsidiary Omya Healthcare, which had radiology, operation theater and critical care equipment as products.
My responsibilities included product range finalisation, acting as liaison for the company with the equipment manufacturers & end users and managing the CE & ISO13485 certification processes.

I was responsible for taking a design to prototype, sourcing UL marked components, interacting with doctors for testing the incubator and recording feedback, re-engineering the product based on the feedback, all the while documenting the project.

The Vital Group manufactures and sells critical care equipment and are pioneers in indigenous manufacture of infusion pumps.
My responsibilities covered the process from design to manufacture and included the product design, firmware development, packaging, prototyping & testing, design documentation and manufacture handover. Towards the later part of my tenure I was responsible for mentoring product designers taken on by the company. I was also responsible for creating and implementing new production processes that helped reduce/eliminate waste and rework.
I was responsible for the development of:
- Falcon GM: Pulse Oximeter with Plethysmograph
- Falcon Duo: Dual parameter monitor - SpO2 + NIBP
- PentaVu: Multipara Monitor
- Hawk-I: A Telemedicine system for real-time patient monitoring at a remote location
- Localising / import substitution on components of an existing product
