We were part of digital team and our role was to create webpages for intranet for different departments within HP organisation. we had a internal content management system which was used to create sharepoint webpages for respective department as per their requirement so that even designer with little coding knowledge can develop the webpages quickly. However our developers instead of using the CMS they were developing directly in sharepoint which use to take more than 3 hours.
The problem: Limitation of the current Content management system was
1. Developers/designer use to take more than 3 hours instead of 45 minutes for developing single webpage because the system was
complicated and was not user friendly. Also it had information architecture issues and there were few navigation issues.2. Some of the labelings were as per developer languages instead of user langauage
