I graduated Bemidji State University with a B.S. in Art and Design with an emphasis in Digital and Exhibit Design in May 2015.
Since then I have worked as an exhibit designer at The Exhibit House. Duties included:
-meeting with clients and sales to discover needs of client.
-creating new designs (sketches and renders) of booths, displays, & re-skin's of existing property.
-creating pdf and sample boards for client meetings.
-meeting with suppliers to maintain material samples room and keep awareness of available products.
Following that I moved locations and industries. I worked as a 3D Artist for Signature Research, Inc. While the industry and project focus was very different many of my skills translated. I also gained new skills. Some examples follow:
-Research, design, and model large-scale scenes based on real locations.
-Model, texture, and write supporting code for 3D assets (man-made and organic) to be physically accurate as possible. Sometime this required field collects to gather more data.
-Set up scenes, write code, and render to support physically based research.
-Manage database and project organization as needed.
-Supported project research, project presentations, and team growth.
There is a lot to be learned from other people and I believe that one should never stop learning. Our tools and scope of what is possible in the 3D visualization is rapidly changing. I try to adapt a learn to stay relevant. I look forward to meeting people in the design industry and building my knowledge and experience.
