Project Studio: student design innovation

Project Studio is a student lead creative movement based within the Glasgow School of Art. Our intention is to engage students interested in product design from all year groups and levels of experience. We will strive to get students more actively involved in the world of design on an extra-curricular basis. This will be achieved through building a thriving community where we can foster new ideas and innovation. Throughout the year we will work as a collective on different challenges such as competitions, self-motivated projects and group workshops. In addition we would like to develop students understanding and appreciation of design through industrial visits, guest lecturers and meaningful excursions.

We are currently seeking to secure funding from student associations as well as from external sources. This money will be used to acquire materials and tools required, pay application fees to competitions and fund industrial visits. Any profit made from our success will be reinvested into the group for the benefit of the members.

Project Studio will aim to develop strong industrial links and we will keep track of professional events and contact similar groups in Glasgow and later around the UK and Europe
