The Commuter is a desk design completed while attending SCAD in Savannah. While at the university, I noticed most students abandoned their dorm rooms and apartments in search of proper drawing and drafting surfaces around campus. The traditional drafting tables are often monumental in size and not adequate for small space living seen in urban environments and college campuses.
It became obvious that the solution could be modernized to reflect the courageous and energetic youth demographic it was designed around. The final product includes small storage space, 12 different positions from roughly 0-72 degrees, and a very minimal footprint. The powder-coated steel legs can be made in infinite color variations. Likewise, wood of any species can be used. It's a great complement to the changing cultural landscape of our youth.
