Identity Crisis

Identity Crisis is more a venture into artistic furniture than any of my previous endeavours. The design's evolution began with analysis of contemporary behavior through the lens of emerging trends. My goal was to determine the current state of Milennial youth and Generation Y by observing behavior and consumer trends. Working with various art mediums, I explored the patterns that have taken over fashion and home accessory trends in the past two seasons. I kept returning to this theme of identity crisis, and I wanted to explore that with a piece of furniture.

Breaking the gratuitous horizontal and vertical planes of typical household furniture, Identity Crisis stands alone as a piece yet unresolved on what its purpose and contribution might be. It has no clue where it currently stands, only the knowledge that it has great potential to become anything. Everything on this piece is custom made and hand crafted in true artisan fashion.
