With regards to my background, after completing college I decided to take some time to go travelling. This is when I fell in love with Australia and its culture. It was an amazing experience that gave me confidence to take on any challenge placed in front of me.
After my travels I was working in retail, while I was progressing within my retail career I felt as if I wanted more, with this I decided to go to University and study Clothing Design & Technology. The course was fantastic and provided me with a broad understanding of the fashion industry; I completed modules in pattern technology, garment technology, material and stitch development and design. My time at University led to me working on and publishing two journals for the Textile Institute.
During my internships I worked within sportswear for Adidas and Puma both in Germany. At Adidas I was involved with product development which provided me a fantastic insight into working with overseas manufacturers, while developing the technically difficult garments for the outdoors department. The role required me to be overly organised as I was responsible for managing the entire collections fit meetings. I also used my initiative to create an electronic trims library which saved both the design and development team hours of work.
With Puma I was the team sports accessories designer where I worked on numerous large projects across various product categories. I developed my skills within all aspects of the design process including inspiration and research methods, Drawing CAD's and selecting and sourcing fabric and trims. This position most definitely helped my decision to to peruse a career within design.
After graduating from university I was asked back to help teach the final year students how to efficiently use Adobe applications including Illustrator and Photoshop.
I have numerous portfolios ready to present over a vast amount of product categories, they include:
• Men's casual
• Men's Tailoring
• Men's accessories
• Men's sports performance
• Men's woven trousers
• Trend Reports
I have attached My CV but if you would like to see any of my portfolio work please do not hesitate to contact me.
