Owen Wright

In my position I work alongside a senior product design team on project briefs from concept to production. In my position I was given a wide range of project briefs at varying points along the design process. My main responsibilities in my position were research, concept development, creation of Cad models and presentation materials which were then presented in a professional setting. All this has given me further knowledge of design in a business context.

In this roll I was responsible for the supervision of children during lunch times to ensure safety and the school rules were up held. In this role I learned valuable experience in team work, co-ordination, interacting with a wide range of ages, observation of situations as well as staying calm in stressful situations where children had hurt themselves or became distressed.

During my time at St Benet Biscop high school I completed 2 weeks work experience at this engineering company. During my time I observed engineering operations of such manufacturing techniques as welding, sheet metal punching, metal lath and milling machining. As well as observing these techniques I was trained in the stock room to package, dispatch and collect delivery of parts and products the company produced.
