Short-term position for the preliminary 2016 session at Pilchuck.
Managed wood and metal shops, fabricated small parts for the Hot Shop and others, assisted and instructed staff members and visiting artists with woodworking, metal casting and glass projects.
Tuned and adjusted all floor-standing woodworking machines, organized tools and materials in the shops in preparation for the arrival of students in the next session.
As time permitted, made personal projects using blown and fused glass.

Design and fabrication of custom steel and wood, doors, tables, etc. for a high-end fabrication shop and gallery. Built extraordinarily large wood rollup door from scratch in an apprentice-level fabricator position with a master machinist. Developed skills with essential machine shop tools with manual mill, grinders, MIG and TIG welders. Organized tool and machine moving during construction around the continuously active machine shop. Tuned up and repaired machines. Trained guests and other staff in the safe and accurate use of wood and metal working machines.

Design, prototyping and fabrication for an extraordinary LED luminaire (still in quiet mode). Took a rough proof of concept model to pre-production prototype status using 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC router and CAD/CAM. By all accounts, "It's beautiful!" Design consulting for small consumer products, luminaires, industrial and interior design. Excellent sense of color, form, proportion, and designing for the process. * Project management, client/vendor relationship and QA management for all design projects. * Volunteer/Member Ace Monster Toys: Arranged for the group to buy a full-sized CNC router at a fraction of it's actual value. Taught members how to safely use woodworking tools and 3D printers, assisted them with ideas and fabrication of their projects. Currently advising on upgrades to their shop layout and power tool upgrades. Public Glass Student 2006-7 Took Glassblowing I and II, ornament making and cold working classes worked in practice sessions. Beginner level skills, but have a strong understanding of the process, very eager to learn more as a glassblower, and as a designer. See Tumblr portfolio link above for a few examples.
