Influenced by my travels, I use my quilts as my journal. I am interested in graffiti whether it is on the wall of a public restroom, a park bench, or the tiled surface of a subway station. In order to replicate the layered surface of a wall, I use techniques of appliqué, spray-paint, stitching, and wheat-paste. My ideas vary, ranging from the industrialization/urbanization of my community to my own self-identification.
