About
I have worked as an Industrial Designer since 2014 and I love the challenge of moving from designing medical equipment, to consumer electronics to kids toys and anything in-between all in one normal day at work. I generally manage 10-15 projects at any one time and I'm skilled with 3D CAD, design for manufacture, rendering, packaging design, web design and illustration.
I have a good eye for detail and a strong sense of styling and aesthetics, but this is tempered by a commitment to develop designs that are easy and straightforward to manufacture and build. I am passionate about sustainability in the design profession and strive to make the projects that I work on as environmentally and ethically sound as possible. I feel very strongly that the ability to affect change in the design profession is in our hands and we have great power to change the world. I love working with my hands and building things, often spending my down time on side projects, wood turning, restoring furniture and cooking. -

Bachelor of Industrial Design, First Class Honours Industrial DesignQueensland University of Technology2014 - 2017This degree taught me the skills I needed to work as an Industrial Designer, with training in the design of realistically detailed products suitable for manufacture with a focus on real-world industry engagement. Skills included the creative design process, technical aspects of product design, design management, computer-aided design (CAD) technology, human factors and ergonomics, design research, aesthetics, marketing, cultural and social values, and design leadership.

Industrial DesignerFeb 2018 - Present (6 years 9 months)Continuing my work with client projects and product development. I have transitioned to having more autonomy and control over the projects that I run, with the ability and trust to make decisions on design direction, aesthetics, engineering and manufacturing. Depending on the project and complexity I work either on my own with a senior designer overseeing the project or with a small team, sharing the workload.

Youth Camp DirectorSU QLDSep 2015 - Present (9 years 2 months)I volunteer directing and leading a number of holiday programs for at-risk youth. The logistics of camp involve organising and managing the camps for both participants and leaders, ensuring that everyone is transported, fed, entertained and most importantly kept safe. My role as director is to manage logistics and top-level management of the camps.

Junior Industrial DesignerMay 2015 - Feb 2018 (2 years 9 months)Developing client projects from initial contact through to research, concept design, engineering development, prototyping and manufacture. This included significant project and time management learning as well as pushing my skills in Solidworks, Rhinoceros 3D, Keyshot and the Adobe suite.
