Responsibilities
• Provided design direction from initial concepts to production models via sketches, renders, digital and simple mock-ups, final CAD and engineering drawings
• Created and presented concepts to clients, consulted with engineers to ensure designs could be manufactured easily and cost effectively
• Collaborated with marketing teams to create graphics and renders for product websites, pamphlets, and manuals. Personally designed warning labels, colour proofs, context shots, and trade show pamphlets for some clients
• Administrative roles included organizing meetings, logbooks, invoices, tax/expense records, and outsourcing services like 3D printing.
Accomplishments
• Took over and completed remaining design work on IDWS projects that were unfinished at time of closing.
• Lead designer on Earthbin, creating the look and main models of the product and taking it from concept to company.
• Breaking the small supplier limit and becoming a registered business with the CRA.
